Mardi
Gras is French for Fat Tuesday. It marks
the final day before the 40 day Christian fast of Lent.
It marks the last day to indulge before fasting for 40 days.
Mardi Gras always falls between February 3 and March 9.
MardiGas or Carnival season officially begins on January 6th.
The colors of a Mardi Gras King Cake have specific meanings.
The PURPLE signifies "Justice", GREEN signifies "Faith", and GOLD
signifies "Power". These colors signify the jeweled crown
honoring the Wise Men who visited Jesus Christ Child on
Epiphany. History shows that items such as beans, peas, or
coins where hidden inside each King Cake.
Today most King
